Thanks for that. The Fontoura Album (1938) is a fascinating and rather sickening window into colonial anthropology. Note that many of the photos of women with bare breasts reveal their tan lines. They were asked to undress for the photos. Their is a bizarre, erotic gaze behind many colonial ‘scientific’ images.
