Peace of Wall

I bought the Brazilian edition of Luís Cardoso’s latest book for a friend in São Paulo. It’s a beautiful edition. Made me remember how rarely I associate a beautiful book with East Timor. But there are a few, like Ruy Cinatti’s books on Timorese arts and architecture. Dan Groshong’s coffee table photography book is another good example. Or Pedro Rosa Mendes’ and Alain Corbel’s Madre Cacau.

There is another new addition, long in the making: Peace of Wall, Street art from East Timor, soon to be published in Australia by Chris Parkinson. He was known to me first as “maleye” on Flickr.

Have a preview of the book on Parkinson’s blog, and watch out for his photos at Fotofreo in Freemantle, Western Australia til April 18.
